A Wonderful Voice Passes into History

I am saddened — like millions of other people around the world — at the passing Luciano Pavarotti early today. He died at age 71 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
It was my pleasure to work closely with Pavarotti during the unprecedented classical music experiment that became a historic event — the first Three Tenors Event in Rome in July 1990.
Below, you can view a promotional, behind-the-scenes video of that first concert that I produced at the time on behalf of my client, London Records. It features Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma during a rehearsal. All the video was shot on location in Rome during that memorable event 17 years ago.

Incidentally, there is a second fabulous music video which follows Mr. Pavarotti that we shot at the same time in 1990 of a then-unknown mezzo-soprano, Cecilia Bartoli.
