Bailout For the Rest of Us
Jason Dobbs, the 29-year-old son of a good friend in Colorado, has been writing about America, and the mess we’re in. And, his perspective is astonishing, in my opinion. Let me share his latest, “Bailout for the rest of us.” – From the U.S. National Debt Clock, as of the time of sending this email, [...]
Rebuilding America’s Leadership
The Presidential race is about LEADERSHIP. Rebuilding America’s image and reputation as a world leader is the over-arching #1 issue that should be embraced by whoever becomes the next President, in my opinion. It will have a direct impact on America’s security, leadership and respect around the world. Part of the reason for the current [...]

Today … Monday morning at JFK International Airport in New York – just eleven days since the anniversary of the 9-11 attacks – and a suspicious-looking package is seen at the airport’s Jet Blue terminal. I’ve known Jack a long time, consider him a good guy, and certainly a good writer. But when I have challenged him over his ultra conservative views, [...]
Gas Prices
Sign of our times: Exactly one year ago, gasoline at services stations in Arlington, Virginia – where I live – cost $1.00 per gallon less than what it costs now. Four years ago, gasoline cost $2.00 per gallon less than what it costs today.
Spokesperson: What to Say, When?
The initial reports suggest that the train engineer of a southern California Metrolink commuter train was texting on his cell phone, and apparently missed a warning signal just before his train slammed head-on into a freight train last week. More than 20 people were killed, including the engineer. Metrolink spokeswoman Denise Tyrrell, a veteran communications [...]
