I would have not met you or other fine people without the tool of twitter. Is twitter a waste of time? Is a mixer a waste of time? Is joining the local networking organizations, cold calling, or a venue for adults to make interesting new friends a waste of time? You do need to invest some time in building a network on twitter but the pay off seems pretty wonderful. It's like a 24/7 brain bank...just be sure you're one of the brains that others can bank on.
