Iranian Hackers Attack Social Media Site
Cyber hackers linked to Iran have attacked the U.S.-based Persian-language social media site, Balatarin.com. For nearly a week, the site has been under constant attack, its Paypal account hacked and certain financial details, including credit card numbers, stolen, reports Dr. Abbas Djavari on his blog, Djavadi.net. Abbas, who is a friend, is associated with Radio Free Europe/Radio Farda based in Prague.
Balatarin.com is a community website, and probably the most famous Web 2.0 site in Persian language, according to Abbas. Users can post links to the webpages of their interest. The company is headquartered in California, and law enforcement authorities in the U.S. are involved.
