Photos that tell a unique stories by themselves. Images that grab our interest and curiosity. Eye candy images that people can’t wait to share online.

When we think about how quickly the evolution of digital camera’s have evolved, it’s easy to understand how easy it is for just about anyone to become a photo journalist. With a plethora of sites to store and share our photo’s, one can literally curate their own portfolio of photo’s without ever leaving their home. I am definitely a new fan of Kerry Maloney’s work. I would be fascinated to know what kind of camera she uses. With the price of digital camera’s going so far down as $50, and some even being marketed to children, I think it would be interesting to curate a show that could highlight how children are the new generation of photo journalists.

      Billy,

Thanks for taking time to comment. I’ve been working with Kerry this week on location. She carries two Canons SLRs and a load of lenses. Hopefully she will weigh in with details for you.

    Hi Billy,
Thanks so much! I shoot with two Canon bodies. A MarkII and a 5D. They are both fantastic cameras that serve very different purposes so I like to have them both at all times.

  4. Though I cannot comment much about photojournalism’s past, I do imagine it to be less captivating and accessible. Now, however, with the ease of uploading photos and taking pictures in COLOR and with digital cameras one can see how photojournalism has advanced and become more engaging. These works by Kerry Maloney greatly attest to this progression. Her works definitely capture my attention. I don’t know their context, but the individuals’ clothing and expressions share as much as candid photos usually do. Great work!
